Glassmaking courses in Bergamo

Soffio d'Arte is developing a new project for anyone who wants to get close to glass, the flame and the tools of the trade. The courses are not running yet, but this page will gather dates, programmes and booking details as soon as they are available.

Step into the workshop and see how glass is worked

The idea comes from Damiano Ravasi's wish to share part of the work he has been doing since he was fifteen. Not a generic demonstration, but a course that lets you observe the material close up, understand the role of the flame and learn the fundamental gestures of lampworking.

The project is still taking shape. Format, duration, group size and hands-on content will be set so as to ensure a clear, safe experience suited to the workshop's spaces.

For the curious, the passionate and the creative

The courses will be designed for those drawn to glass out of personal interest, for people working in creative fields who want to discover a new material, and for anyone looking for a hands-on experience in the workshop.

No previous experience will be required, unless a particular programme states otherwise. Each course will specify its level, its requirements and the activities planned.

What they may include

Depending on the format, the courses to come may cover materials, tools, setting up the bench, how glass behaves in the flame and the basic techniques for shaping it. Any hands-on activities will be set out in the programme for each date.
